List of accepted items at the recycling center:

Glass Bottles & Jars (all colors)
Metal Cans:  Aluminum cans, steel cans and lids, empty aerosol cans with the lids and tips removed
    Plastic Bottles (empty, crush, reattach lid): Bottles and jugs that have a small mouth and wider base, such as milk jugs, soda bottles, laundry detergent bottles, water bottles, shampoo bottles and contact solution bottles

  Paper: newspaper, magazines, cardboard, mixed office paper and envelopes, paperboard (cereal boxes), pizza boxes free of food debris and grease, telephone books and catalogs
Cartons: food and beverage cartons, such as milk, juice, soup, wine, broth and other cartons.

 
Recycling Tips:

Mix all items together – no separation required
Empty all bottles, jugs and cans
No need to remove labels
For plastic bottles, empty, crush and reattach lids
For cartons, remove plastic caps and straws
NEVER place medical sharps or needles in the recycling.

​Renewals for Program Year 2025 - 2026

Renewals for Program Year 2025 - 2026 are underway. The new recycling yard on 7th Ave is now operational and we are in the process of distributing new fobs for patrons who renew their recycling service. The old fobs from the Virginia Avenue site will not work with the new system on 7th Avenue. If you'd like to return them, we will leave a drop box at the entrance gate to return them at your leisure. We will see to it that they are sent to an electronics recycler. 

 

  

For recyclers in the Huntington area transitioning from the Temporary Yard to the new yard on 7th Avenue


The new yard is located at 1537 7th Ave and will be accessible 7am to 7pm 7 days/week 365 days/year. We plan to leave the entry gate open during operating hours for the next couple of weeks to help with the transition.  


For recyclers in the Barboursville area using the Depot Street yard

Recyclers who use the Depot Street site can renew their fob the same way. If using the PayPal option, when prompted to enter the fob number enter "Depot" then the fob number. If you do not know your fob number, simply enter "Depot". We should be able to find you in the system.

OPTION 1

PayPal:  Pay with PayPal by clicking the BUY NOW button below. This option takes you to a secure site to make payment. PayPal charges a small fee ($2.00) for the transaction bringing the grand total to $39.50. You can use credit or debit cards through the PayPal button as well. 


**Please note:  Before clicking the Buy Now button to complete the transaction, enter the number off the back of your fob in the space provided.   *If you cannot read/find the fob number, please enter your name and address instead. We should be able to locate the fob number. If we experience an issue we will notify you via the email provided on your PayPal receipt.
